I am writing this blog for the sole purpose of completing a class requirement. The majority of blogging I have done up to this point in my life has been pathetic debates on social network sights. All of these debates where a mixture of emotions toward personal afflictions within an argument. By this I am referring to personal drama brought up by personal life situations over social networking sights such as Facebook. This leaves me a bit confused about the more professional aspect of blogging over the course of this classes assignments. I feel the best way to approach this is to let my personal opinion guid what I write. This form of wring allows me to write more about what I actually care about instead of just expressing the emotions of someone ells. In conclusion to my very first blog, I would like to express that I am open to any and all constructive criticism of my work.

      sony112,
I find your most recent posts to be full of good insights and they are peppered with a much deeper understanding of communication concepts than you seem to reveal in class. In reference to your post above, personal opinion IS a part of professional blogging and it is coupled with strong research to logically prove the opinion. Part of the goal is to achieve credibility(ethos) through your blogging efforts. It is often designed to create a debate and part of the hope is to elicit responses that are rooted in emotion (pathos) AND logic (logos) in order to derive the best possible outcomes and understandings, including full support of the cause or product. Personal drama does not have to be part of the official debate, but very often people interject that in their attempt to garner support. You have wisely realized that it is not the most powerful method of gaining full support for the long haul, yet many still attempt to gain from it.
      Thank you!
      Ms. W.
